Polymath, noun:
“An individual whose knowledge spans a substantial number of subjects, known to draw on complex bodies of knowledge to solve specific problems.”
What Is A Polymath Sheltie?
My goal is to produce a “what you put into them is what you get out of them,” versatile, all-around partner with a healthy dose of functional herding instinct and a particularly strong desire to work together collaboratively with their person.
I started this program primarily to produce my own future multi-sport performance partners, so lifelong physical soundness, environmental stability and versatility are the absolute top priorities.
At the next level of priority, I’m aiming to produce a partner who is level-headed, is easy to motivate with food/toys, works in novel environments with minimal acclimation time, is neutral-to-social with unfamiliar dogs/people and shows fewer neurotic behaviors (spinning, barking, pacing, etc) than many sports shelties.
And if they’d like to look pretty too, that’s bonus points.
